What is HFTP?
HFTP is an international society which serves approximately 4,000 financial and technology members in the hospitality industry.


Can I Attend a Meeting Even Though I am Not A Member?
Of course!  We would love to have you come to a meeting and see first-hand what our organization is about!  Upcoming meeting information will be posted on this website.   Please see the section titled:  if you'd like to make a reservation for the next meeting or the section titled if you'd like to be added to our mailing list.


When and where does your chapter meet?
Our chapter meets on the 3rd Thursday evening of each month at various clubs and hotels throughout the Los Angeles area.


How do I find out where you will meet next?
Please check our calendar for current events.


Do you meet for lunch or dinner?
With few exceptions, we usually meet for dinner from 6pm - 9pm.


How much does it cost to attend the monthly events?
Depending on the meeting location and your membership affiliations, the cost is usually $55 for members, $65 for non-members and $25 for students..

How much does it cost to join HFTP?

Full Membership
HFTP membership dues are $375 and include one HFTP chapter affiliation, access to ProLinks communities and all HFTP member resources and benefits. Members of HFTP receive award-winning publications, industry research, online networking tools, chapter affiliation, online education, member pricing to HFTP conferences and events, career advancement opportunities and much more.

Young Professional Membership
Kick your career into high gear. Members under 30 can join for just $150.

Student Membership HFTP offers free online membership for currently enrolled students.


Who can become a member?

HFTP Membership Categories
HFTP is a professional association focusing on individual professional development. Membership with the association is individually-based as opposed to company-based.

Principal Members—Principal Members shall be individuals who primarily perform accounting, financial management, or information technology activities and whose employers, including management companies, are providers of a hospitality experience actively engaged in the Hospitality Industry. Principal Members are individuals, such as chief financial officers, controllers, and other accounting personnel; chief information officers, directors of information technology, supervisors of management information systems, and other technology personnel. Principal Members may vote, serve on and chair committees as determined by the Board of Directors from time to time, and hold office on the International Board and Executive Committee.

Agent Members—Agent Members shall be individuals whose employers are public accounting firms and consulting firms actively engaged in the hospitality industry. These individuals often act as an agent of providers of hospitality experiences and advise on actions that are normally performed by Principal Members. Individuals in this category are free to recommend to Principal Members and their employers the "best of breed" third party providers of goods and services. Individuals eligible for this membership class are qualified to perform the duties of Principal Members. Agent Members may vote, serve on and chair committees as determined by the Board of Directors from time to time and hold office on the International Board and Executive Committee.

Education Members—Education Members shall be individuals employed full time in a post secondary hospitality academic institution that advise or teach hospitality accounting, financial management, or information technology programs to students that will develop qualifications to become association members and shall include individuals who conduct hospitality research at these institutions that will be used by the industry. Education Members may vote, serve on and chair committees as determined by the Board of Directors from time to time and hold office on the International Board and Executive Committee.

Allied Members—Allied Members shall be individuals who provide goods and services to Principal or Agent Members or their employers and who do not qualify as Agent Members. Members of this class have specific goods and services that they represent and endorse only those goods and services. Allied Members may vote, serve on and chair committees as determined by the Board of Directors and may serve on the Board of Directors, but may not hold office on the International Executive Committee. Industry Members—Industry Members shall be the press and leaders active in the hospitality industry wishing to support the Association. Members of this class may not vote or hold office in the Association.

Apprentice Members—Apprentice Members shall be individuals who have an interest in the hospitality industry. Members of this class may not vote or hold office in the Association.

Student Members—Student membership shall be available to individuals actively enrolled in a post secondary academic program leading to qualification as a Principal, Agent, or Education Member. This class of membership shall not be open to individuals who otherwise qualify for membership. Members of this class may not vote or hold office in the Association. Student membership includes affiliation to one of HFTP's Student Chapters. Applicants are required to select affiliation with an existing student chapter of their choice. In the event that applicants do not indicate their chapter affiliation, the applicants will be placed in a chapter closest to the primary mailing address designated by the applicants. Read More

Retired Members—Individuals who have retired from full-time employment and who have been members of the Association for a minimum of ten (10) years are eligible for Retired membership. Members of this class may not hold office in the Association, but shall be eligible to vote and serve on international committees. Retired membership includes affiliation to one of HFTP's Chapters. Applicants are required to select affiliation with an existing chapter of their choice. In the event that applicants do not indicate their chapter affiliation, the applicants will be placed in a chapter closest to the primary mailing address designated by the applicants.


What happens to my membership if I change jobs?
Members who change positions within the industry carry their memberships with them for the remainder of that dues year. The former employer may replace the member with another eligible individual for the remain of the dues year at no additional cost. Note: Contributions or gifts to HFTP are not deductible as charitable contributions for U.S. federal income tax purposes. However due payments are deductible by members as an ordinary and necessary business expense.


Are there any additional costs associated with membership?
No. There are, however, additional participation fees should you decide to attend any educational workshops, trade shows, or other local, national or international events.
